Hey folks! I know I’m not in the habit of drafting two posts in a day and it’s a bit late in the game to be posting a second one, but I’ve decided to put my face on camera and started my own YouTube channel. I only have one video on there, which is scheduled to go live in about ten minutes. But I’m hoping to use the video aspect to discuss and demonstrate things that are a bit difficult to explain with words and photos. If y’all wouldn’t mind visiting the channel and clicking those little “like” and “follow” buttons, I can start pumping out videos in tandem with my blog posts. For any one interested, here’s the link to the YouTube channel.
Check out this first video, which I recoded tonight…
Hopefully, it doesn’t bore everyone any worse than my long-winded posts usually do. I look forward to sharing more in the future. If anyone has any thoughts on something I should be posting in video format as opposed to in written form, please let me know in the comments. ☯
An excellent idea! The key to creating a youtube community is exactly that, building a rapport with others. Thus far what do you know about your potential audience?

Nothing more than what I know of my current one. For the moment, my thought is to simply expand the delivery of my content. Some people may not have time to read a long-winded article that I’ve written (and let’s agree that I get VERY wordy sometimes) so providing a few things in video format allows for people to follow my content while being able to prep a meal, feed their children or any other task that prevents reading. Further, I think that some things are just better demonstrated than written. Hence my first video, which was the replacement of my CGM. Sure, I can describe it in words. But providing an actual video of the process goes a much longer way.
At the moment, any post I have on my blog is automatically uploaded to my FaceBook page. And I cross-post any YouTube videos to my blog, which in turn sends it to FaceBook. Since I have some different followers on all three platforms, I’m sure to reach everybody, every time.

Your reasoning is sound. Is there anything you need help with from my end?

Not that I can think of in the immediate moment, but I appreciate the offer. Our conversations and exchanges have lead to some interesting post ideas, so those are always welcome. And if you ever have suggestions about content that relates to Diabetes, Health&Fitness, Buddhism or martial arts that you think I could share, I’m always open to that, as well.

Thank you, Shawn, I also feel that our dialogue has merited some positive exchange. Would you be open to writing about Stephen Bachelor? He is one the leading voices and cementing forces in the secular Buddhist movement. A few minutes of browsing his website will probably peak your curiosity if you haven’t already. Just google his name to locate his site.

I’ve checked out his website already and have bookmarked him. It looks interesting, I’ll definitely do some reading and see what tidbits I can gleam from the information.
